With Poipu Beach Surf School, you can enjoy some of the world’s most fantastic surfing at Poipu Beach. Located along the southern shore of the island, Poipu Beach is known for its perfect and gentler ocean conditions, sand bottom waves, and reef break—all of which are ideal components for surfing, boogie-boarding, paddle boarding, and other sports. Poipu Beach Surf School offers a wide range of lessons that vary in difficulty and size. Most lessons offered by Poipu Beach Surf School last for an hour and a half. In addition to surfing lessons, Poipu Beach Surf School also offers paddle boarding lessons.
Basic group surf lessons last about an hour and a half and are priced at $75.00 per person. Private lessons are recommended for surfers ages six to nine years old.
Beginner semi-private surf lessons, which include two to three people maximum, cost $125.00 per person. This option is great for friends or family members who want to take a lesson with one another, but not strangers. Other beginning-level surf lessons offered by Poipu Beach Surf School range from $150.00 to $200.00 per person.
Intermediate lessons, which entail a one-on-one session with an instructor, are priced at $175.00 per person. Meanwhile, expert surfers can go on a surf tour with an instructor for $300.00 per person. This tour allows advanced surfers to go surfing with an instructor at a surf break of your choosing over the course of an hour and a half.
All instructors at Poipu Beach Surf School are trained in lifeguarding, CPR, and ocean safety, though Poipu Beach also has the added safety of having its own official Kauai lifeguard station. Poipu Beach Surf School is open from 8:00am until 7:00pm daily.
