Spring is one of the best times of the year to make your way to Kauai, Hawaii for an unforgettable vacation getaway. We suggest spending some time on the island during the month of March where you can catch a variety of Kauai events.

Mardi Gras

Kick off another exciting year celebrating Mardi Gras when you visit Kauai. The neighborhood of Koloa is right around the corner from exciting events happening all week long. Local restaurant Kalapaki Joe’s hosts their annual Mardi Gras bash with happy hour drinks and food specials. You can get incredible discounts on beer, cocktails, tacos, wings, and more. Kalapaki Joe’s has a menu for all ages so feel free to bring the kids as you enjoy their incredible Mardi Gras specials. Get even more festive with the 26th Annual Eat Dessert First Mardi Gras celebration at the Kauai Marriot Resort Ballroom. You can choose from an incredible selection of delicious treats while enjoying live music and plenty of dancing. A silent auction takes place to help local charities in need such as the Zonta Club of Kauai, a local organization who advocates for women’s empowerment and leadership.

St Patrick’s Day

Perhaps the most celebrated March holiday is St Patrick’s Day. Just because you are in Hawaii does not mean you cannot celebrate as the Irish do. Similar to Mardi Gras, Kalapaki Joe’s are guaranteed to feature incredible deals on your favorite appetizers and ice cold beer. If you are able to make your way to Honolulu, do not pass up an opportunity to enjoy the St Patrick’s Day Block Party put on by Murphy’s Hawaii. This local pub puts on the biggest St Patrick’s Day in all of the Pacific each year. The event will include incredible food, local vendors, live music, plenty of dancing, endless cocktails, and a fresh oyster bar. The block party can be enjoyed by all ages so feel free to bring the kids!

Earth Hour

Each year the world can take part in one hour where all lights are encouraged to be shut off. This Earth Hour can be easily enjoyed during your stay in Kauai and Koloa by turning off the lights in your vacation rental and enjoying the gorgeous weather outdoors. This year’s Earth Hour will take place at 8:30 pm so make sure to pack your flashlight!
