When traveling to the Hawaiian Islands, it is oftentimes difficult for visitors to choose which island or islands to explore. Each one has its own appeal and charm. From the soft sands of Waikiki on Oahu to the volcanic peaks of Haleakalā on Maui, the entire archipelago offers unparalleled natural wonders. On the island of Kauai, the Nā Pali Coast is almost always mentioned when thinking about Hawaii’s Garden Island. Thankfully, Blue Ocean Adventure Tours presents an up-and-close view of the magnificent coast aboard one of its exhilarating Zodiac pontoon-style boats.
Choose Your Adventure
The experienced and knowledgeable outfitter offers a few adventure tour options and even a private charter for those who prefer a more customized adventure. The Nā Pali Coast Adventure Tour takes voyagers on a five-hour trip to witness the beauty and grandeur of Kauai’s leeward side. Along the way, guests will have an opportunity to see dolphins, turtles and even humpback whales if they visit during the seasonal months of November through May. Additionally, the captain takes visitors under waterfalls and through sea caves with this adventure tour. The adventure ends at the fishing village of Nualolo Kai where guests have a chance to snorkel with sea turtles and other aquatic life in the coral reefs. The Nā Pali Coast + Beach Landing Adventure Tour provides the same wonderful voyage as the above; however, the beach landing offers guests a sumptuous lunch which includes a Luau-type meal. After lunch, this tour ends with a hiking adventure to visit the remnants of Nualolo Kai.
Blue Ocean Adventure Tours also offers excursions specifically designed to witness the majestic humpback whales that flock here in the winter to breed and feed. For those travelers who seek to celebrate a special occasion, ask about the private charters which can host up to fourteen guests.
All of the excursions begin in the fishing village of Kekaha, or rather, you will hop aboard a pontoon boat at Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor. The morning Nā Pali Coast Adventure Tour starts at 7am and the afternoon tour begins at 2pm. However, afternoon tours are only scheduled from March to October due to the large ocean swells which arise in winter. The Nā Pali Coast + Beach Landing Tour also starts at 7am, while the afternoon tour begins at 12:30pm. The whale watching excursions also have two departure times, one in the morning and afternoon. The minimum age to ride the boats is six-years old and people with pre-existing heart conditions and/or other health issues which prevent them from performing basic safety maneuvers should not board.
