Cannons Beach

Cannons Beach

Cannons Beach is accessible from Haena Beach Park. Just a hop, skip, and walk from the park and you will find this secluded beachfront. This is one of Kauai’s quick surf spots when near Haena. The waves are slamming and strong, so it’s perfect for the more experience surfers. It’s a great way to escape the occasional crowd at Ke’e Beach.

To find this beach spot, drive until you reach the end of the HI-56 N Road. Park your car near Haena Beach Park. After the showers and bathroom, you will find a small trail that leads to Cannons Beach. This popular surf break can get exciting, so just be respectful and ride the waves when it’s your turn. Here’s a google map!

Even though it’s not recommended to swim, you may want to play in the sand or get your tan on. It’s one of those beaches where you pack a box lunch, some towels, suntan lotion, and a body or surfboard. Many come here to chill and watch the professional surfers get in on a few waves. Professional photographers like to snap photos of the waves and surfers, so be ready to say: “Chewhoo” (Hawaiian slang when excited). This spot is perfect for those surfers who came to hike near Ke’e Beach, but suddenly got an itch to surf.
