Alii Kai I is one of our favorite places to suggest as a vacation rental in Princeville. Ocean views, Mountain views, nice pool, private dead end street and great nightly pricing make it a top five place to stay for sure. I’d even call it a top 2 overall if you are looking for a 2br with a view. Pali Ke Kua and Alii Kai have the best views in Princeville for your money.
Alii Kai was built in the 70’s with a really fun curved design. It has minor setbacks that the building department would never approve today. Don’t be alarmed by the 70’s build, most of the condos have been updated significantly. Again due to the curved architecture you get so close to the ocean you feel like you are actually on a boat. It’s awesome.
Check out the picture above. Buildings 1 and 2 have the best mountain views but are located across from the ocean while 3-7 are on the edge of the bluff and boast the best views around. Why? Because the waves crash directly onto the bluff from the North giving it a really active view plane and it’s also one of the favorite spots for the Humpback whales to breach and play in the winter. Stand up paddlers, canoe clubs and one man OC1 outrigger enthusiasts also use this as a playground running downwind from Anini Beach or Kalihiwai down to Hanalei Bay where lots of the canoes are stored at the local Canoe Clubs like Namolokama Canoe Club or Hanalei Canoe Club.
Virtually all of the condos here have the same layout. You enter into the living / dining area and down a hallway there are two bedrooms. Master at the end of the hall with a private bath and the common bathroom is in the middle of the hallway. Both have showers or tubs depending on the fit and finish of the condo.
