Sea Lodge Beach, a.k.a. Kaweonui Beach, is an isolated beach area for those that love to snorkel. Snorkeling is best during the summer as the waves are more forgiving. The reef that stretches out for a couple hundred yards controls the waves so they are small by the time they get to shore. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, Monk Seals, and plenty of rainbow reef fish. This can be an amazing snorkeling spot!
To get to Sea Lodge Beach, take HI-56 N to Ka Haku Rd. From Ka Haku Rd, turn right onto Pepelani Loop. Next turn right onto Kaweonui Rd stay on Kaweonui Rd until you end up in the loop area next to the Sea Lodge Building. Parking is very limited, so find a spot respectively or use the visitor parking area. The trail is on the right hand side in-between the condos. The trail is about 1/2 mile hike, and considered to be a private beach, so bring your fitted hiking shoes and enjoy the walk.
Here is a video to give you some clues as to where the trail is.
Take a dip into the waters, but be careful as the reef is really close to the sand and takes over the entire ocean front. Check out the massive coral heads in this clip.
The best thing to do is sit in the waters while basking in the sun or snorkeling with your loved ones. One last clue how to find this ultra private beach is by looking at this map.
Take a walk all the way down past the end of Sea Lodge Condos and you’ll find the trail ;).
